Investigated in RussiaIn April 2007, it was revealed that Moscow’s South District office of public procurator had begun an investigation into Narconon’s activities in Russia. The Moskovsky Komsomolets daily paper reported that legal proceedings were begun against the head of the clinic “Narconon-Standard”, for violating bans in Russian medical practices. Russian law enforcement became interested after receiving many complaints from citizens about the high fees charged by Narconon. The Narconon office in Bolshaya Tulskaya St., Moscow was searched, and documents and unidentified medications were seized.

In April 2008, as part of an investigation in Ulyanovsk into the Church of Scientology, police searched a Narconon office in the town of Dimitrovgrad.

Moscow, Russia – A court in Russia’s Urals has ruled that the materials by L. Ron Hubbard are to be banned as undermining the spiritual basis of life in Russia, says the Prosecutor-General’s official website.

According to Russian legislature, the books are to be included in the federal list of extremist materials and are to be forbidden on the whole territory of the country.

and yet the Russian gov’t chose Narconon tech over and above ALL other programs in the US, and brought the tech back to Russia for their heroin problem

For this reason, patients are particularly vulnerable to harm from the mega-dosages of vitamins, lengthy hours in sauna and a general lack of medical supervision frequently reported by Narconon’s victims. Additionally, patients have stated that Narconon would not have been their first choice for treatment had they known about the Narconon-Scientology connection. Narconon’s deception in this regard is highly unethical.

I have to wonder how the conflict between disallowing any connection to scientology and acknowledging the property would be leased to Narconon (which is now obviously a scientology entity) will play out in the courts. The nuns may not have known about the connection, but Antonino (Tony) Putorti and Mario Desrochers surely did, hence the deception of adding the special sale condition eight. It was deception right from the word go, something scientology and its front groups, and unfortunately, its people, excel at.
